SITE Mountain West

Founder & Managing Director

Opus Event Solutions

Dear SITE Mountain West Friends and Supporters,

Since coming out of the pandemic, we have returned to something resembling normal, but it is instead a new normal. Remote work is a big part of this new normal. Our colleagues are more dispersed, but collaboration happens instantly via Teams, Zoom, and other platforms. Thank goodness for technology!

Our chapter is growing and is very active. We are very excited that our membership has grown to over 100 members! This is an exceptional milestone for a chapter formed in late 2019 and despite the challenges we faced throughout 2020-2021. In 2022, we held eight live events and one virtual program. None of our successes would be possible without our extremely dedicated Board members and all our various Committee Members.

For 2023 we have ambitious plans to provide even more value to our members. We will continue our work to provide relative and engaging events and our plans include holding four events in each of our four states, Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, and Utah…16 events in total! This will include a signature event that will be hosted in Utah, which will then rotate in subsequent years to another state and location. Our first AGM will be held virtually January 26 at 3:00pm to include fun networking. We hope to see you at many of our events in 2023!

Our committees are getting stronger, and we are engaging more of you in our successes. If you’re not currently volunteering, please get involved! I encourage you to volunteer your time to our Chapter by joining one of the various committees (Membership, Marketing/ Communications, Events, Sponsorship, Finance, and Young Leaders). Our chapter serves incentive industry professionals from a four-state region including many who also live/work outside of these states.

I can attest that being an engaged member is invaluable to your career and for building enriching and meaningful global relationships. It is very beneficial creating deeper connections with members and chapter leaders globally. After many years of being an active member, I am still inspired to volunteer my time to work collaboratively with our Board on initiatives that help our chapter, members and the greater SITE community.  If you would like to get involved, please reach out to me or any of our board members directly.

Finally, I want to thank all our members, volunteers, and sponsors for their dedication and support over this past year. We are optimistic for the year ahead and look forward to connecting with you.

Warmest wishes,

Lisa Kincannon Cherry
